New Haunted Mansion experiences arrived at Disneyland today!
As a lifelong Disney fan, my heart belongs to many things in the parks—but nothing quite compares to the Haunted Mansion. There’s something about its spooky charm, clever storytelling, and iconic aesthetic that keeps me coming back again and again and has won its place as my favorite attraction. So, when Disneyland announced the Haunted Mansion grounds expansion, I couldn’t wait to see how they would enhance one of my all-time favorite attractions. Now that the expansion has officially debuted, I’m thrilled to share the eerie and enchanting details with you!
A New Spot to Rest in Magnolia Park
Before you step into the mansion’s new grounds, take a moment to enjoy the newly opened Magnolia Park, located between Tiana’s Palace and the train station. It’s such a picturesque and relaxing addition to New Orleans Square. The towering oak and Ficus trees provide the perfect shady spot to unwind with a Mickey-shaped beignet from the Mint Julep Bar (try the peppermint beignet if you're in town for the Holiday season!) or take in entertainment nearby.
This park truly captures the charm of New Orleans Square and sets the mood for the spooky adventures ahead.

Exploring the Expanded Haunted Mansion Grounds
If you’ve ever wished to linger in the eerie ambiance of the Haunted Mansion, your dream is about to come true. The new grounds expansion opens up a whole world of creepy beauty and ghostly storytelling—before you even enter the attraction!
A Peek at Master Gracey’s Personal Garden
As a fan of the Haunted Mansion lore, I'm so excited to see Master Gracey’s story come to life in this serene garden. Highlights include:
A fountain featuring the face of a sea maiden, her hair blown back as though caught in a storm.
A secluded wrought-iron gazebo with a bench, an old pipe, and a well-worn book left behind—perfect for a ghostly afternoon of pondering the past.

Madame Leota’s Mystical Garden
Madame Leota is one of my favorite characters from the Haunted Mansion, so her garden is a huge highlight for me! You can practically feel her spellbinding energy as you explore:

Statues of frogs, lizards, rats, and even a cymbal-playing monkey, all frozen as if by magic.
A towering oak tree adorned with bells, chimes, and ornaments—a whimsical touch that perfectly reflects her mystical vibe.
Fortune-telling motifs scattered throughout, including glowing orbs and enchanted trinkets.

The Mansion Greenhouse
For those with a “green thumb,” the new Mansion Greenhouse is the place to visit. This ornate iron-and-glass structure is home to some of the most unusual plants ever cultivated by the mansion’s ghostly residents.
I could spend hours soaking in all these intricate details—the Imagineers truly outdid themselves with this expansion.
More Updates for Guests

Disneyland also made some exciting operational updates to enhance the Haunted Mansion experience for all guests:
Accessibility Improvements: Guests using mobility devices can now enter through the main queue and exit via a new elevator gallery that features Walt Disney Imagineering artwork.
Virtual Queue Removed: The traditional standby queue is back, and the Haunted Mansion has Lightning Lane availability once again. It's also available with the new Lightning Lane Premier Pass, making it easier to experience this classic attraction along with your other favorites.
Additionally, if you’re planning a visit during the holiday season, you’re in for a special treat—the mansion is currently decked out in its Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay, which runs through early 2025.
Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond: A New Shop Opening Soon
I’m so excited for the upcoming retail shop, Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond, set to open this winter near the mansion’s exit. The shop is designed to feel like a carriage house once used by the mansion’s caretaker—and later claimed by Madame Leota herself.
Inside, you’ll find a treasure trove of Haunted Mansion and Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas merchandise. From home décor and collectibles to apparel and accessories, this shop will be a must-visit for Haunted Mansion fans like me.
Hurry Back to the Haunted Mansion
This expansion feels like a love letter to Haunted Mansion fans. Whether you’re exploring Master Gracey’s garden, wandering through Madame Leota’s mystical realm, or hunting for eerie treasures in the new shop, you’ll feel even more connected to the magic and mystery of this classic attraction.
